Membership Levels

All memberships require renewal annually on January 1st.

Professional Members

Individuals who are:

  1. Engaged in the profession of HR management;
  2. Certified by HRCI;
  3. Faculty members holding an assistant, associate or full professor rank in HR management or any of its specialized functions at an accredited college or university and have at least three years of experience at this level of teaching;
  4. Full-time consultants with at least three years experience in the field of HR management
  5. Full-time attorneys with at least three years experience in counseling and advising clients on matters relating to the human resource profession
  • SHRM Members: $75
  • Non-SHRM Members: $90
This role has voting rights, can volunteer on a committee, and can serve in a board position. 

Affiliate Members

Individuals who do not meet the professional member category but who demonstrate a bona fide interest in HR management and the purposes of the MCHRA.  No more than one individual per business may be an Affiliate Member, and no more than fifteen percent (15%) of the total Mid-Cities chapter membership at the end of the preceding year shall be comprised of associate members


  • SHRM Members: $75
  • Non-SHRM Members: $90
This role has voting rights, can volunteer on a committee, and can serve in a board position

Transition Members

Available to those individuals who are unemployed at the time of their application for membership. To qualify you must have been a professional member in good standing the prior year. The annual membership fee is waived for one calendar year. The member will pay the member rate for membership meetings and chapter events.  Applications are reviewed by the executive committee and must be approved prior the member using the designation and rate


  • Free for 1 year
This role has voting rights, can volunteer on a committee, and can serve in a board position.

Student Members

Individuals who are enrolled at the college or university level in a business related discipline and maintain full-time undergraduate (12 or more credit hours) or graduate student (9 or more credit hours) and is not employed or working on a full time basis in a HR position

*Please submit along with your application, copy of unofficial transcripts or letter from university advisor of your full-time enrollment

  • $25.00
  • This role can volunteer on a committee.  Ineligible to voting and serve in a board position.

SHRM Membership
