The Future of 401(k)
As professionals acting in a functional fiduciary nature with respect to company retirement plans, HR professionals are asked to rise to a higher standard. While there are fiduciary duties that must be prudently met, this education program is about the overarching fact that many employees are not on track to enjoy success in retirement. While a 401(k) may be deemed fiduciary prudent, if its employees are not on track to successfully retire with it, can it be said to have been a success?
In this education program, we will discuss how the 401(k) plan providers of today may not be effectively communicating to employees what information they should know to retire successfully with their 401(k) plan. To remedy this, we will discuss changes that plan sponsors should consider to meet the needs of today’s employees. Instead of trying to force employees to understand the 401(k), it’s time we forced the 401(k) to understand employees.
HR professionals attending this program will leave with the knowledge of what changes 401(k) plans need to undergo so that when today’s employees reach retirement, it can be with success. This program has been previously presented as an HRCI approved provider.
