This interactive, virtual training session aims to refocus HR leaders on the human elements critical to effective Human Resources management. Participants will explore the significance of ethics, servant leadership, empathy, and meaningful financial and personal investments in employees. Through practical examples, interactive exercises, and scenario-based knowledge checks, attendees will gain actionable strategies to boost morale, enhance ethical decision-making, and strengthen human connections within their organizations.

Justin O'Keith Higgs is a seasoned Labor and Employment Counsel and Human Resources Consultant with over 15 years of progressive HR and legal leadership. Justin serves as a trusted advisor to HR teams and C-Suite Executives across diverse industries. In his current practice, he oversees complex employment law matters including litigation preparedness, internal investigations, global compliance, addressing complex employment law matters, employee relations, and strategic HR initiatives. 

Justin brings a rare combination of legal depth and HR insight due to his real-world experience serving as HR Business Partner, Consultant and Director. Known for translating complex law into actionable HR strategies, he partners with leaders to foster positive, legally compliant, and open workplace cultures. 

Throughout his distinguished career, Justin has supported prominent organizations including Wells Fargo, Colgate Palmolive, Cisco, ShipBob, Nomura, Adobe, Acrisure, Higginbotham and Kyndryl, delivering expert counsel on employment litigation, internal investigations, DE&I initiatives, and international employment law compliance across multiple jurisdictions including the U.S., Canada, Europe, LATAM, and APAC. 

Justin holds a Juris Doctor from Thurgood Marshall School of Law and a Master of Science in Human Resource Development from The University of Texas at Tyler. He is an Instructor for SHRM and HRCI Continuing Education Courses, covering topics such as ethical leadership, employment law updates, ER best practices, and global HR compliance, recognized for engaging and practical training delivery. 

Beyond his professional work, Justin is an Award-Winning & Published Creative Artist and Photographer, an active advocate for diversity and inclusion, and a dedicated community volunteer. He is deeply committed to mentoring youth in leadership, fostering the next generation of ethical and impactful leaders. Justin is a former member of the NBA’s only all male dance team, the Dallas Mavericks Mav ManiAACs.
