Navigating the Accommodation Maze for Disability, Pregnancy and Religious Accommodations
Changes in the law have expanded employer obligations to accommodate disability, pregnancy, and religious belief. Not surprisingly, accommodation requests as well as in claims alleging failure to accommodate are on the rise. Even for the most compliance-minded and proactive employers, employer obligations can be confusing and misunderstood. This session will help employers and HR professionals understand differing accommodation obligations pursuant to the ADA, PWFA, and Title VII. We’ll also explore when, if ever, employers can say no; best practices for the interactive process; and what to do when you suspect abuse.
