Diversity in the 21st Century Workplace

In today’s environment, diversity can either lad an organization to new heights or become a root cause for turmoil and productivity loss.  Many organizations continue to strive to incorporate strong diversity practices and principles into their business but not all are equally successful.  This session will focus on what it takes for an organization to successfully create and sustain a diverse workforce and supporting environment.  Included in the discussion will be:

  • Why diversity initiatives continue to play a key role in today’s business environment.
  • Common misconceptions about diversity.
  • The importance and limitations of diversity training.
  • Common mistakes that companies make and how they undermine diversity initiatives.
  • Successful strategies and company practices that maximize the benefits of a diverse workplace.
  • Why some companies will always fail the “diversity” test

This program has been approved for 1.25 recertification credit hours toward PHR, SPHR, and GPHR recertification through the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI). For more information about certification or recertification, please visit the HRCI homepage at www.hrci.org.
